Trethias, a daughter of Invincible Spirit won the Listed Oaks Trial at Naas last night for trainer Jesscia Harrington and owners Stonethorn Stud Farm Ltd.
Trethias headed the longtime leader, Free Eagle’s half-sister Search For A Song (Galileo), down the home straight and ran on well to beat her by nearly three lengths.
Bred by Watership Down Stud she sold for 400,000 gns at Tattersalls October Book 1 Yearling Sale to BBA Ireland.
Trethias has a regal pedigree , being a half sister to Listed winner Moohaarib (Oasis Dream), out of a Selkirk
half-sister to the Gr.1-winning quartet Diaghilev (aka RiverDancer), Dariyoun, Rewilding and Dar Re Mi, herself the dam of Too Darn Hot and Lah Ti Dar, amongst others. The grandam is the Gr.1 Prix Vermeille winner Darara (Top Ville), a half-sister to Classic winner and leading sire Darshaan (Shirley Heights).
Post race Jessica Harrington commented: “She relaxed and did everything right today. Today is the first time she’s put everything together. She got no run in Navan at all and everything went wrong.
“She had a good break since her last run and we’ll head now to the [Irish] Oaks. She’s now finally done what I thought she could always do.”
