Gardening/Grounds Supervisor

We currently have a vacancy for a Gardening/Grounds Supervisor. This is a permanent full- time position, reporting to the Estate Manager. The successful candidate will be energetic with a genuine desire to maintain the high standards our visitors and clients enjoy every year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the management and maintenance of the prestigious Japanese Gardens, St. Fiachra’s Gardens, the surrounding landscapes and outer farms.
  • Manage a skilled team of gardeners, providing leadership, guidance and hands- on support in all day to day operations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders promoting our commitment to biodiversity and sustainable gardening practices.
  • Set and follow up on a grounds maintenance schedule.
  • Be available to support other Tourism activities, including giving presentations and related talks.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the Irish National Stud Management team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a level 7 Horticultural Qualification or equivalent.
  • Have at least 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to adapt to new projects as needed.
  • Be available to respond to the needs of the business which may include working outside normal hours, including weekends.
