year’s Punchestown Festival. From Tuesday the 30th of April to Friday the 3rd of May, join
us as we proudly showcase our legends: Beef or Salmon, Faugheen, and Hurricane Fly.
These equine icons will be available for selfies and carrots from 11am to 12pm each day. But
the highlight of the week comes on Friday the 3rd at 5:30pm when Faugheen, will parade
before the Champion Hurdle at Punchestown. Led by the capable hands of Leona Harmon,
who tends to our esteemed legends, Faugheen’s presence promises to captivate all who
witness it.

Faugheen, affectionately known as “The Machine,” stands as an epitome of racing
greatness. Born in May 2008, this gelding earned a stellar reputation for his commanding
presence on the track and his unrivalled talent for hurdling. Triumphing in the prestigious
Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2015 and winning back-to-back Christmas Hurdles in
2014 and 2015, Faugheen captured the world’s attention with his thrilling performances and
endearing personality. He is not just a champion, but a beloved icon cherished by racing
enthusiasts worldwide.

commanding wins in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle of 2015 and The Champion
Stayers Hurdle 2018, Faugheen has consistently dazzled crowds with his exceptional talent
and determination.

Now retired and living out his days in leisure at the Stud, Faugheen has earned a reputation
for his love of carrots.
