Haatem, two year old colt by Phoenix of Spain bolted up yesterday at Bath Racecourse to win the Maiden Stakes by 6 lengths for Trainer Richard Hannon and Owner Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah on only his second start.
Bred by Hyde Stud Stud he is out of the Cape Cross mare Hard Walnut.
He was purchased from Sherborne Lodge at Tattersalls Book 2 by Peter and Ross Doyle for 27,000gns.
Racing Post analysis; Haatem, third at Goodwood on debut, went two better with ease and looks a useful juvenile.
He’ll presumably be considered for Royal Ascot.
We look forward to following this exciting colt by Phoenix of Spain!
