Phoenix of Spain Continues Winning Streak with Galician Girl and King of Spain

Phoenix of Spain’s progeny showcased their prowess over the weekend with two new notable victories, King of Spain and Galician Girl.

King of Spain displayed remarkable progress by clinching victory in the 0-90 handicap at Doncaster, securing his second consecutive win for trainer Gemma Tutty.

Following King of Spain’s triumph, Gemma Tutty expressed her satisfaction, highlighting the horse’s promising attributes. She remarked, “He is a half-brother to Mostly Cloudy, whom we bought as a yearling. He possesses a better mind and is physically stronger than his sibling. Given his pedigree, we anticipated significant progress between runs. His performance in training had been exceptional since the Wolverhampton race, indicating notable improvement. Despite our confidence in his suitability for the ground and trip, witnessing his victory in such style was immensely promising. He demonstrated resilience when challenged by other contenders.”

King of Spain, acquired by Gemma Tutty for 31,000gns at Tattersalls Book 3 from Hybercon Bloodstock. His recent win further solidifies his potential for future success.

Meanwhile, Galician Girl showcased remarkable improvement from her previous outing, where she secured third place on her handicap debut for trainer Ado Mc Guinness. Her victory at Dundalk suggests further potential for progress on turf. Out of the Nashwan mare Teide Lady, she is a half-sister to several notable turf performers, including the Luca Cumani-trained Group 3 winner Ayaar

The weekend’s successes underscore Phoenix of Spain’s growing influence as a sire, with his offspring continuing to excel on the racing circuit. As the season progresses, anticipation mounts for his classic winning entries and two year old debutants.

Phoenix of Spain stands at €10,000. Call the office to discuss your mating plans with the team.
