Invincible Spirit – 3 Stakes winners in 5 days!

3rd May 2018

Invincible Spirit has had a great start to the season with three takes winners in five days.

Emmaus started off proceedings landing the King Richard III Stakes at Leicester for trainer Roger Varian and owners China Horse Club International. The son of Invincible Spirit was sold at Goffs Orby yearling sale for €580,000 from the illustrious nursery Kilcarn Stud. He will next be seen stepping up to Group 3 company in the Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown in June.

The following day at Longchamp another son of Invincible Spirit won the Prix du Pont Neuf (Listed) for trainer Andre Fabre and owners Godolphin SNC. The colt was sold at Arqana for €320,00 by his breeders Ecurie Des Monceaux who coincidentally have had great success with Invincible Spirit having bred our new stallion National Defense.

Three days later at Ascot two sons of Invincible Spirit took home the first two placings in the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes. Invincible Army led home the one two for his sire beating Eqtidaar a length and a half behind.

Invincible Army proved to be a solid Group 2 and 3 performer at 2 but showed his impressive credentials when running away with the Group 3 context. Trainer James Tate says he improved physically over the winter and will prefer drier conditions next time out. He holds entries in both the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes and Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot where he will hopefully next appear for his owner Saeed Manana and breeders Rabbah Bloodstock.

Eqtidaar who was a close second to Invincible Army holds entries in the Irish 2000 Guineas, Commonwealth Cup and July Cup, all Group 1 contests which his owner breeders Hamdan Al Maktoum of Shadwell Estate have no doubt this colt has the class to contest.

There is no doubt that Invincible Spirit has plenty of nice prospects to go forward with this year.
