INS Students Visit Bansha
11th Mar 2015
The 2015 Irish National Stud students were lucky enough to be given a guided tour of Bansha House Stables by the ever enthusiastic Con Marnane. Con who is a specialist in the sphere of breeze up horses has had 17 Gr. 1
horses through his hands since he established his business in Bansha, South Tipperary.
Con was delighted to welcome the students and impart some of his knowledge to the next generation of thoroughbred breeders. The day started early watching multiple sets of 7 be saddled and worked over different types of gallops including a sand & fibre up hill, all weather, and grass gallop. The special insight to Bansha House Stable’s unique 2-year-old sales prepping routine also included a top notch equine treadmill and equine swimming pool used to develop tone and stamina in the horse.
A great day for all the students was topped off with enlightening conversation of the racing industry over afternoon tea and biscuits in the Marnane house. A big thank you goes to Bansha House Stables and the Marnane family for being such wonderful hosts to our Irish National Stud Thoroughbred Breeding and Management Course Student
