After a successful bumper debut over the Christmas meeting at Leopardstown, many people had Facile Vega penciled in as one to watch given the impeccable record of his dam Quevega, who boards at the Irish National Stud. Facile Vega, Quevega’s second foal, went on to put in a stunning performance at the Dublin Racing Festival over the weekend winning the Grade 2 Goffs Future Stars I.N.H. Flat race and taking his record to a perfect two from two. Now the short-priced favourite for the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, trainer Willie Mullins commented on the 5yo gelding after the race saying, “Today was the day to find out if he was as good as I hoped he could be. He looks to be even better than I thought he was, he looks to be the real deal.” We would like to extend our congratulations to all connected with Facile Vega, and look forward to seeing the young gelding continue to progress this year and beyond!
