Blown By Wind provides Invincible Spirit with another Group winner

28th Jan 2021

Invincible Spirit’s son Blown By Wind completed an exciting black type double for Irish National Stud Stallions on the global stage when winning The Jebel Ali Mile Group 3 impressively on Friday 22nd January at Jebel Ali. Bred by Godolphin Blown By Wind is Owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and now trained by S Bin Ghadayer. He is out of the Group 3 winning 2yo Street Cry mare Discourse, and a half-brother to black type horses Discursus and Hadith.

Blown By Wind originally trained by Mark Johnston had always signaled himself a horse of high caliber after winning on debut as a 2yo at Windsor. He was later sent off a 9/1 shot for the Coventry highlighting the talent he was deemed to have. On Friday he really showed his talents travelling at the rear of the pack throughout the race before making smooth progress lead 100 yards out, winning impressively by 4 lengths. In doing so he became yet another new Group winner for Invincible Spirit. Judging by his performance it will be a very exciting season ahead for his connections.

Just another result to show the immense talent Invincible Spirit possesses and why he deservedly sits at the top table of the World’s Leading Sires. This followed on from a week where his son’s Shalaa, Kingman & I Am Invincible all sired Million Dollar yearlings at the Gold Coast Yearling Sale in Australia. The same week saw Shalaa sire the winner of the $2m Magic Million Classic in Shaquero from just his first crop. This gives us great confidence with his Champion 2yo son National Defense who will be represented with his first juveniles on the track in 2021.
