Mare Syndicate 2020

23rd Dec 2019

Have you dreamed of owning, breeding and selling high quality Bloodstock?

Following on from the success of our initial Irish National Stud Mare Syndicate, which has seen foals sell for €330,000 & €95,000 over the past two years we are launching a New Mare Syndicate for 2020. We have made a few changes for the new syndicate to make it more affordable while allowing for a high calibre of mare.

INS Mare Syndicate II will allow for you to own, breed and sell high quality Bloodstock whilst reduced risk through a portfolio of mares and capped costs. The market is showing us a greater demand for quality, and on that basis we have focused on buying high quality broodmares through the Syndicate.  It will be a 100 Share syndicate of which 50 will be purchased by the Irish National Stud and 50 available for purchase. The INS has purchased 4 in foal mares for the syndicate at a total of €500,000. The resulting foals will be sold and the mares re-covered each year before selling all stock at the end of 2023. We are currently discussing mating plans for the mares, and will be using a mixture of both INS and outside Stallions, with the commercial market in mind.

Upon joining the mare syndicate you will also become a member of INS Racing which is a racing club with 6 horses in training including 1 National Hunt horse. INS Racing has numerous benefits which I can explain in greater detail. INS Racing alongside the Mare syndicate will give you an all-encompassing view on the industry from Breeding and Racing.

Please find below the basic cost breakdown for The INS Mare Syndicate II. The table lays out the costs of the syndicate per share. As you can see there is an initial cost of €5,000 per share this forms the fund to purchase the mares in the first place. At the end of the year (starting in 2020) there will be a maximum charge of €3,000 for expenses. These will be deducted from the sales of the animals.
