On Saturday 25 October 2025, two-year-old filly Lam Yai (IRE) delivered a decisive performance to claim victory in the Listed William Hill Prospect Stakes (registered as The Doncaster Stakes) , over 6f at Doncaster Racecourse.

Sent off as the favourite at 7/4 f, Lam Yai proved she was the one to beat.
Under jockey Shane Gray, she tracked the pace, moved to lead a little over two furlongs out, and then held on strongly in the closing stages to win by 1½ lengths from Figjam (IRE) who finished second.
Her winning time was 1 m 16.84 s.

This victory represents more than just a black‐type win on the board for Lam Yai and trainer Karl Burke. Lam Yai had already shown promise, with earlier competitive efforts including a runner-up in a Group 3 at Ayr, with this win she steps out of the maiden/novice ranks into the upper echelons of juvenile races, which opens up possibilities for her future.
