The Irish National Stud is humming with excitement as 24 students from seven countries settle in for the 2025 Thoroughbred Breeding Management Course.
The six-month residential programme, which begins each January, is a cornerstone of education in the thoroughbred industry. Running in tandem with the breeding season, it offers students a unique, hands-on opportunity to immerse themselves in the intricacies of breeding and stud management.
Representing countries are Ireland, the UK, Australia, France, Sweden, the USA, and Colombia, this year’s cohort brings a wealth of international perspectives to the table. Over the coming months, the group will gain invaluable knowledge and skills designed to prepare them for leadership roles within the global thoroughbred industry.
Beyond the academic and practical learning, the course fosters close bonds between its participants. The small, tight-knit groups often form lifelong friendships and professional connections that enrich not only their personal lives but also their careers. These ties are reinforced through the vibrant Irish National Stud Thoroughbred Alumni Network, which now boasts over 1,600 members worldwide.
Stay tuned as we share updates and insights from this year’s class.
