The Irish National Stud are putting together an alumni group and are reaching out to all past graduates of the operation’s Thoroughbred Breeding Course.
The group aims to reconnect over 1,200 past graduates who have taken up roles around the world. The group will not only give former students the chance to reminisce with old friends, but also provide a support network for the next generation of graduates.
The announcement coincides with an important milestone for the world-renowned Irish National Stud Thoroughbred Breeding Course as, having been inaugurated in 1971, the stud will celebrate the course’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
Anne Channon, education manager at the Irish National Stud, said: “Graduates of the course have a wealth of industry experience and knowledge among them and it’s hoped that the network of former students will be able to offer support and advice to each other while also being available to mentor new students joining the course.
“In the future we plan to host alumni events and seminars, and with the 50th anniversary of the course taking place in 2021 it would be lovely to organise a reunion to celebrate the special event and to honour the achievements of past graduates.”
