Nando Parrado, First Runner, First Winner

Vanessa Teehan’s GOLDEN BREEZE (2yo filly by Nando Parrado ex Samrah by Shalaa by Invincible Spirit) won easily on her debut contest in France on Saturday last.

Her breeder and NANDO PARRADO Shareholder, Vanessa has held this filly in high regard since she was a foal and backed her own judgement to keep and race the filly with Trainer Kevin Tavares. She looks a very quick filly and a likely step to a conditions race is the obvious choice, but given the relative ease and style with which she won, this is only the beginning.

Her dam Samrah is a daughter of Shalaa by INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and therefore this filly is inbred to the prepotent mare RAFHA, also the dam of leading sire KODIAC, NANDO PARRADO’s sire.

Natural Precocity coupled with the ability to sire animals that can change gears is ultimately the barometer that sorts stallions. NANDO PARRADO’s 2yo’s are positioned around some of the best racing yards in Europe, Clive Cox, Eve Johnston Houghton, Richard Fahey, Amy Murphy, Gavin Cromwell, Jack Channon, Joseph O’Brien to name a few. Golden Breeze’s performance was reflective of the feedback we are receiving about Nando Parrado’s progeny.

CEO Cathal Beale commented “It is what people have been telling us about them, both trainers and breeze-up consignors. Clive (Cox, who trained Nando Parrado) has a colt who he is very taken with. We were down with Con Marnane recently and he is excited about all three of the Nando Parrados he has.”

“He was a very sharp two-year-old himself, unlucky not to win on debut, and that Kodiac sireline is excellent at producing good early horses so a result like this is exactly what you hope for. His progeny are good-looking horses with plenty of scope, just like himself.”

Nando Parrado stands at €6,000, talk to the team today to book in your mares!
