Lady Of Spain, the three-year-old daughter of Phoenix Of Spain, delivered another scintillating performance at Deauville, leaving her rivals trailing in the Listed Prix Petite Etoile. Trained by Roger Varian, this exciting filly extended her unbeaten record to four wins from four starts, firmly establishing herself as one to watch.
Bred by John Little of Ennell Lodge Stud, Lady Of Spain was sold as a foal for 16,000gns at Tattersalls through Norris Bloodstock, she was later pinhooked by Whatton Manor Stud and resold for 40,000gns.
While she’s now set for a well-deserved break, her connections have set their sights on the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes and the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot as key targets for 2025.
Lady Of Spain’s rise is another feather in the cap for her sire, Phoenix Of Spain, who continues to enhance his reputation.
Standing at €10,000 for the 2025 breeding season, Phoenix Of Spain is proving to be a consistent producer of top-class talent.
