Night Watch Foaling Attendant
The Irish National Stud is seeking an Experienced Night Watch Foaling Attendant to join our team for the 2025 foaling season.
This is a temporary full-time role, requiring availability over a two-week rotation. Three nights week one, and four nights week two, January to June 2025.
The successful candidate will have:
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role
- Confidence handling mares and young foals
- A positive, flexible and energetic attitude and work ethic
Responsibilities:
- Attending to Thoroughbred mares prior to, during and after foaling
- Monitoring mares and foals post foaling
- Respond professionally to dystocia and any health problems of mares and foals throughout the night
- Liaise with veterinary support and management
- Be prepared to instruct & supervise students participating in our Thoroughbred Breeding Course
- Prepare reports as and when required
- Be Health & Safety vigilant

Assistant Financial Controller
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of finance as well as improving and developing reports and processes.
This is a full time hands on role, with career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Management accounts and all financial reporting including Key Performance indicators are delivered monthly
- Preparation of Annual Budget and rolling forecasts.
- Preparation of annual syndicate accounts.
- Cash Management including monthly cashflow forecasts and management of banking relationships.
- Preparation and submission of bi-monthly vat return and ensuring that all revenue returns are completed and up to date.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Liaising with auditors and preparation of audit schedules and management of audit queries.
- Main Point of contact for Internal Auditors and engaging with them on various finance- related matters.
Other Responsibilities:
- Working with department managers on cost management and control.
- Working with Credit Controller to improve processes and collections.
- Working with Procurement department and Payables to ensure compliance and participation on evaluation panels as required.
- Management of Exchequer accounting system including systems review and development of reports.
- Preparation and distribution of board reports.
- Ad hoc requests for other finance data or reports as directed by the Financial Controller or CEO.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant with 3 years+ PQE
- Play a critical role in a small, committed finance team
- Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the horse Industry would be an advantage.
