Yard Foremen

The Irish National Stud is seeking two Yard Foremen to join our team. These positions will require availability over weekends.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • A positive, flexible and energetic attitude and work ethic
  • Stallion experience is of benefit but not essential

Responsibilities:

  • General horse and yard care
  • Liaise with veterinary support, farriers, clients, and management
  • Be prepared to instruct & supervise students participating in our Thoroughbred Breeding Course
  • Complete record/administration duties
  • Be Health & Safety vigilant
  • Other duties as and when required

Assistant Financial Controller

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of finance as well as improving and developing reports and processes.

This is a full time hands on role, with career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Management accounts and all financial reporting including Key Performance indicators are delivered monthly
  • Preparation of Annual Budget and rolling forecasts.
  • Preparation of annual syndicate accounts.
  • Cash Management including monthly cashflow forecasts and management of banking relationships.
  • Preparation and submission of bi-monthly vat return and ensuring that all revenue returns are completed and up to date.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Liaising with auditors and preparation of audit schedules and management of audit queries.
  • Main Point of contact for Internal Auditors and engaging with them on various finance- related matters.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Working with department managers on cost management and control.
  • Working with Credit Controller to improve processes and collections.
  • Working with Procurement department and Payables to ensure compliance and participation on evaluation panels as required.
  • Management of Exchequer accounting system including systems review and development of reports.
  • Preparation and distribution of board reports.
  • Ad hoc requests for other finance data or reports as directed by the Financial Controller or CEO.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant with 3 years+ PQE
  • Play a critical role in a small, committed finance team
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the horse Industry would be an advantage.
