Bolthole became the latest Stakes winner for Free Eagle on Saturday 27th May, winning the Grand Prix de Bordeaux (Listed) at Bordeaux Le Bouscat.
Bolthole was held up for the majority of the ten furlong contest, travelling with ease throughout but was caught for room as they turned into the straight and had to switch. Once the horse regathered his balance, he quickened up smartly and put the race to bed in a matter of strides under a decent ride from Mickael Barzalona.
Bolthole was originally trained in Britain before being bought by Wathnan Racing at the 2022 Autumn Horses In Training sale. The horse was campaigned in Qatar by Alban De Mieulle at the beginning of the year, picking up huge amounts of prize money before returning to France for a campaign in Europe. He has proven he is extremely versatile and it will be exciting to see where he turns up next.
