Soaring Sky, two year old daughter of Free Eagle made it a winning debut for Trainer Jessica Harrington and Owner Zhang Yuesheng at Dundalk last week under Jockey Shane Foley
Bred by Airlie Stud and Mrs S Rogers, she is a Tattersalls Ireland graduate when selling to BBA Ireland.
Racing Post analysis: SOARING SKY had finished fourth in a barrier trial here and made a winning debut despite looking quite green. Pushed along some way out, she began her challenge under two furlongs, edging left approaching the final furlong and hampering the eventual fourth, hitting the front inside the final pole and having to be pushed out to hold the persistent challenge of the runner-up. She will have learned plenty from this and should stay ten furlongs as a three-year-old.
Post race Jockey Shane Foley commented ‘ She was quite green when she got to the front, she ran around a bit. She’s a big, weak filly, next year she’ll be going a mile and a quarter’.
Yesterday another two year old by Free Eagle, Aratus followed up his second on debut to win his maiden at Kempton Park for Trainer Clive Cox and Owner Adrian Butler under Jockey Adam Kirby.
Bred by Mrs B Gardiner he was purchsed by Clive Cox at Tattersalls Book 2 for 70,000gns.
Racing Post analysis; ARATUS, second of 13 on his Newbury debut in September (first and fifth have won since), was always in a good position and really stuck his head out after taking over in front coming to the last furlong. He looks a nice prospect and will get a mile without any problem.
Both very nice prospects for their sire Free Eagle in 2021.
