2nd Jan 2020
We are delighted to announce the chosen club horses for I.N.S. Racing 2020. They are made up of both flat and national hunt and are at various stages in their career.
2017 – Filly Sire: Hot Streak Dam: Qatar Princess Rating: 98
Flaming Princess a daughter of Hot Streak and was purchased by The INS at Tattersalls December Sales for 200,000GNS. She is a Listed winning 5f sprinter having won impressively at 2 in August at Deaville, she also ran a fine 4th in the Group 2 Flying Childers beaten just 2 lengths by high class sprinter A’Ali in September.
She boasts a lovely pedigree, her dam recently sold at the Goffs December Mares sale to Barronstown Stud for €330,000. Her grand-dam Bridle Dance is responsible for Group 2 winners such as Hawksmoor and Royal Dornoch. Flaming Princess will be aimed at sprinting black-type races and will be trained by the GAA hero, Willie McCreery. Flaming Princess was actually foaled at The Irish National Stud so it is a nice story for her to be back to her birthplace of the Curragh. We hope she will progress from 2 to 3 and have an exciting year for all.
2015 – Filly Sire: Dawn Approach Dam: Artisia Rating: Hurdle Rating N/A
Divine Approach is a five year old half-sister to three-time Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux. We introduced you all to her as a three year old when she won impressively at Navan Racecourse, storming her way through the field to take victory for jockey Leigh Roche and trainer Michael O’Callaghan by 4 lengths beating 17 rivals on this occasion. Divine Approach has enjoyed her work immensely and has recently had a career change from flat to national hunt racing.
She is now in training with the successful trainer Ross O’Sullivan who will give her every opportunity to excel in her new venture. She is bred to excel over further and progress with age so we look forward to seeing what 2020 has in store for this filly!
2016 – Filly Sire: Society Rock Dam: Bellacoola Rating: 94
At two, Winiata broke her maiden on her second start, winning over 6F at Limerick after placing third first time out in a Dundalk maiden. At three she showed great improvement as the year progressed, rattling up a double in the space of two weeks by winning competitive handicaps over 1m2f at Leopardstown and then at Roscommon in August where she seemed at home on the heavy ground bolting up by five lengths. Just a week later she showed that she was a filly still improving by clinching third in the Listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Stakes at the Listowel festival behind the rapidly improving Lancaster House trained by Aidan O’Brien. An exciting filly who looks to have plenty more to give in 2020 and we are all excited to welcome her and her trainer Johnny Murtagh to the INS Racing team!
2017 – Gelding Sire: Free Eagle Dam: Spinamix
By the Royal Ascot Group 1 winning sire, Free Eagle, this sharp, good-looking and athletic gelding is a half brother to 9 winners. Six of which gained valuable black type status. He will go back into training with the legend, John Oxx in early January.
His sire, Free Eagle has had a successful year with his first runners in 2019. He has produced the Ger Lyons trained, Justifier who won a listed race at Tipperary Racecourse amongst others. Free Eagle being a very successful three year old himself gives us plenty to look forward to in 2020.
Siyouni ex. Nebraas
2018 – Colt
A beautiful looking colt by a fantastic young sire in Siyouni. Currently in pre-training with Sonny Carey. He looks a nice, strong type that is sure to progress as the year goes on. He also has a wonderful pedigree, his 2-year old unraced half-brother by Free Eagle sold for €400,000 to Shadwell at the 2018 Goffs Orby Sale. His Dam, Nebraas, has proved herself as an extremely valuable mare for the Irish National Stud, producing the likes of Yellow Rosebud (dual Group 3 winner), Seeharn (Listed 2YO winner) and a record of 8 winners from 8 runners.
We will be naming him in the new year…any ideas?
Dragon Pulse ex. Penny Pepper
2018 – Filly
Bought for €50,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale, this filly was bred by John Tuthill’s Owenstown Stud. John has bred many Group 1 winners including Excelebration and Persuasive. This filly is the first foal out of the Group 3 winning mare, Penny Pepper. Also in pre-training with Sonny Carey, she looks to be a sharp type and will go into training with the Tipperary based trainer, Joe Murphy, in the New Year.
We will also be naming this filly in 2020, if you have any ideas let us know!
As well as these exciting bunch of horses we will also be looking forward to industry trips and workshops! If you would like to join the I.N.S. Racing, why not get in touch on 045-521251 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
