29th Mar 2018
The Irish National Stud had a very exciting addition early Tuesday (27th March 2018) morning with the birth of Quevega’s third foal! A beautiful filly foal by Coolmore’s Walk In The Park. This is the second year that the six-time Cheltenham Festival heroine has produced a foal by the top quality sire, from looking at her yearling colt it is easy to tell why! Walk In The Park is the sire of many high class performers such as Douvan and Min which has set our expectations sky high!
The filly was due on the 7th March but arrived safe and well over 3 weeks late, weighing a good 53kg with the help of Lauren Eisemann, one of our foaling attendants. Both mare and foal are doing well after the birth and are now enjoying the sunshine in one of our nursery paddocks in the Kildare Yard, before being moved on to a larger paddock and making friends with some of our other foals. She is a beautiful filly who will hopefully grow up to be as successful as her mum.
Quevega is a wonderful mum who looks after her foals extremely well, giving them the best start to life here at the Irish National Stud. She stands over her sleeping baby as tourists look over in awe.
