The Dermot Weld-trained Right Honourable recorded a second win for first season sire Famous Name on the opening day of the Galway Festival yesterday evening (Mon 25th July). The two-year-old won the claregalwayhotel.ie (C&G) EBF Maiden with Pat Smullen on-board for owner Dr. Ronan Lambe. Right Honourable, out of Agnetha was bred by the Weld family and is a half-brother to seven winners including Stakes winner Starstruck.
Commenting on the win, Trainer, Dermot Weld said: ‘He is a very nice horse. He is by Famous Name who won 21 races for us and is the best value at stud. I bred him with my late mother. He is very adaptable. I’ll look for a Group or Listed race for him next over 7f to 1m.’
