Nazeef, Group 1 Double for Invincible Spirit

4th Oct 2020

Nazeef, 4 year old daughter of Invincible Spirit enjoyed a Group 1 double when landing the Group 1 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes followed closely in third by another daughter of  Invincible Spirit, Cloak of Spirits at Newmarket yesterday. Owned and bred by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan of Shadwell Stud, Nazeef is trained by John Gosden and was ridden by jockey Jim Crowley.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit has now won seven races, having also taken the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, Listed Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes at Kempton and Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot this season alone.

Racing Post analysis; Nazeef drawn nearest the stands’ rail, collected her second Group 1 of the campaign in gritty style.. Now unbeaten in six races over a mile, she seems admirably versatile when it comes to ground conditions. No decision has been made about her future, but she’s a possible for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Post race jockey Jim Crowley commented ‘Nazeef is as tough as nails. It’s a great performance from John Gosden to prepare her to be at her best for this. He gave her a break after France and she’s come back to win a proper Group 1’.

Congratulations to her winning connections.
