Lucky Vega & Nando Parrado have their first mares scanned in foal

The Irish National Stud are delighted to announce that new additions to the roster for 2022 Lucky Vega and Nando Parrado have both had their first mares scanned in foal.

Amongst the mares scanned in foal for Lucky Vega is Solar Event, a daughter of G3 winner Time Away from the family of G1 winners Digital Age and Cursory Glance. Lucky Vega is the only G1 winning two-year-old by leading sire Lope De Vega and Cathal Beale (CEO) added ‘Lucky Vega has been enthusiastically received by Irish Breeders and given the quality amongst his first book of mares including G1 winner Miss Keller, Scarlett Rose (dam of Blue Point) and Plying (dam of Alcohol-Free) is exceptional for a first season sire’.

Nando Parrado also welcomed his first mares scanned in foal. A 165,000gns foal purchase by Paul McCartan, Nando Parrado has the support of a strong syndicate of commercial breeders behind him.

Amongst his first bunch of mares scanned in foal is Cafetiere, a two-year-old winning daughter of Iffraaj, she is already the dam of G2 Norfolk Stakes third Imperial Force. Cathal Beale added ‘Nando Parrado a Royal Ascot winning and multiple G1 placed two-year-old, is by sire of sires Kodiac and is an exceptional physical’.
