Lord Shans In Good Hands
29th Oct 2013
Lord Shanakill got off to a great start with his first crop of yearlings with highs of €160,000. Through the course of the sales season his average yearling sold for €37,517and the median was €23,421. Expectations are now mounting with this first crop due to hit the racecourses in 2014.
The beautifully bred Lord Shanakill filly that reached €160K at the Arqana Sales will be keeping good company as she is to join the likes of Moonlight Cloud at Freddie Head’s Chantilly base. Hopefully some of that star-mare’s talent can rub off on her and she can make a dream start for our young stallion.
Another Arqana graduate will be trained in Chantilly as Nicolas Clement also struck to secure a Lord Shanakill filly in August.
Richard Hannon has had another superb season with high profile winners coming in the form of Sky Lantern, Toronado and Olympic Glory. Next season he will have two Lord Shanakill colts to go to war with and with his dab hand at producing two year old winners, we will watch these two very closely next season!
Charles Hills has had a fantastic year with successes at the very highest level and he will also be double-handed next season with two Lord Shanakill colts. Lord Shanakill yearlings also found good homes with Shadwell Estate, Middleham Park Racing, Karl Burke and David Elsworth to name just a few.
There are exciting times ahead and we wish them and all our Lord Shanakill produce the very best of luck for the season ahead!
Lot 410 from Glacken View sells to Shadwell Estates for £105,000 at Doncaster Premier Yearling Sales
