IRISH NATIONAL STUD ANNOUNCE FEES FOR 2022

12th Nov 2021

The Irish National Stud are delighted to announce our Stallion Fees for 2022, as we welcome two new stallions to the roster.

LUCKY VEGA was an exceptional Gr. 1 Phoenix Stakes winner at two and a Classic dual Gr. 1-placed performer at three. The imposing son of LOPE DE VEGA has all the right attributes to flourish in his career at stud. He will stand at an opening fee of €15,000.

NANDO PARRADO is also new for 2022. Purchased for 165,000 Guineas as a foal by Paul and Marie McCartan’s Ballyphilip Stud, he was the winner of the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot at two. NANDO PARRADO followed up by finishing second in Gr. 1 Prix Jean Luc Lagardere and the Gr.1 Prix Morny and is an ideal fit for breeders looking for speed, pedigree and a physical to match. He opens at €6,000.

INVINCIBLE SPIRIT again produced a Gr 1 performer in Pearls Galore and Gr.2 two-year old Hello You in 2021. INVINCIBLE SPIRIT’s twenty Gr.1 winners to date make his fee of €60,000 remarkable value and ever more accessible for the commercial breeder in 2022.

PHOENIX OF SPAIN will stand for €12,000 in 2022. Having covered 260 mares in his first two seasons at stud, he has been very well supported and with his first foals selling in the coming days, he is set for another successful season ahead.

Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Sprint winner Twilight Gleaming gave NATIONAL DEFENSE an exceptional start. He will stand at a fee of €8,000 in 2022. The Champion 2yo by Invincible Spirit is yet another reminder of his father’s remarkable influence as a sire of sires. 4 Individual sons of Invincible Spirit produced Group 1 winners this year.

DECORATED KNIGHT will continue at €7,500 in 2022 after a promising start. Wind Your Neck In along with debut winners Damaar and Silver Bullet Lady will have caught the eye of many breeders.

FREE EAGLE enjoyed a good year in 2021 with high class 3yo’s Aratus and Dancing King, who sold for 380,000gns in the Autumn H-I-T sale. His 2021 yearlings averaged €73,000 across the premier European sales. His fee for 2022 is €5,000.

EQUIANO’s fee for 2022 is €2,000. He continues to offer Irish breeders a proven speed influence at exceptional value. The Greenlands Stakes Gr. 2 winner Gustavus Weston led the charge in 2021. As Acclamation’s highest rated son, he will continue to produce sprinters of all ages and looks an obvious choice to start off a young mare.

ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL will stand at a fee of €2,000. Grade 3 winner Exit Poll and Listed winning hurdler, Thedevilscoachman flew the flag over obstacles this year. With an 8% BT Horses to Runners ratio and much larger crops to come he offers obvious appeal.

DRAGON PULSE has a remarkable strike rate of 51% winners to runners and has one of his largest crops of two-year olds to run again next year with Clive Cox, Jessica Harrington, Tim Easterby and Richard Hannon. DRAGON PULSE will stand for €2,000 in 2022.
