Invincible Spirit’s fantastic start to the season continued at the weekend as the versatile Inns of Court, owned and bred by Godolphin bolted up in the Gr.2 Prix du Gros-Chene over 5 furlongs at Chantilly. Inns of Court had previously won a Gr.3 and finished 2nd in last season’s Gr.1 Prix de la Foret over 7 furlongs but seems to be improving with age as he is now 2/2 at 5.
He was smartly away from the stalls and was able to stalk the leaders before demonstrating a devastating turn of foot which saw him put the race to bed and win comfortably by half a length from City Light, who was a close second in last season’s Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
He is now being aimed at the Gr.1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes over 6 furlongs at Royal Ascot, for which he is near the top of the betting with another son of Invincible Spirit, Invincible Army. Both horses look incredibly exciting for the remainder of the season and beyond and we hope Invincible Spirit’s good form continues!
