Gale Force Analysis

17th Dec 2014

Performance, physique and pedigree – the Classic-placed Gale Force Ten offers all the desirable attributes to become a successful stallion. He commanded a sale-topping £280,000 when sold as a yearling at the 2011 DBS Premier Sale, on a day when he was described by EBN as an ‘extravagant mover’ and ‘muscular’ individual. He was a high-class two-year-old, winning his maiden over 6f at the Curragh in June, before finishing a close second in the Norfolk Stakes and third in the Middle Park Stakes. At three, he showed Classic form to run second in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and fourth in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains. As tough as he was talented, he followed up those performances by winning a 21-runner renewal of the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. From the noted two-year-old family of Simply Perfect and Bianca Nera, Gale Force Ten shares his sire, Oasis Dream, with the leading British-based first crop stallion Showcasing. Emerging sire of sires, Oasis Dream is also responsible for Approve and Arcano, who have also been represented by first-crop stakes winners this year.
