First winner for Free Eagle

First winner for Free Eagle

14th Jun 2019

Justifier, a two year old colt by our First Season Sire Free Eagle was an impressive debut winner for his sire at Leopardstown on Friday evening. Trained by  Ger Lyons for owners Sean Jones & David Spratt & Mrs Lynne Lyons he traveled easily throughout the race and stayed on to overhaul Potala Palace inside the last 100 yards, with a length to spare over that rival at the line.

Bred by Tally-Ho Stud, Justifier was a Goffs Orby graduate selling for €60,000 to Gaelic Bloodstock and  becomes the first winner for Free Eagle.  His dam Pale Orchid, is out of the Gr. 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes scorer Chelsea Rose who in turn produced last year’s Gr.1 St Leger and Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris hero Kew Gardens and the Gr.3 Prix de Ris-Orangis winner and Gr.1 Prix Maurice de Gheest runner-up Thawaany.

With a crop of over 80 two year olds we are excited to start seeing his progeny make their debut.
