A Fairy Nice Day at Irish National Stud
23rd Jun 2017
It was a scorching day to remember last Saturday as over 100 season ticket holders and their families gathered together for our second fairy trail march this year.
Clodagh fairy and her friends led the way around our new trail which starts from the enchanted lake, past the stallions and through St Fiachra’s Garden where over 18 fairies now reside. Along the journey our guests were treated to some special stories about each resident and learned the chores they do and – more importantly – what makes them happy!
The children stopped by the fairy village centre where the latest woven willow forms the village walls – the area inside is preserved only for the villager’s evening activities!
Gardening was a passion for St Fiachra and he would be delighted to know that many of these fairies play a part in maintaining the beauty of this spiritual place. Francis is one of those workers who takes bookings for the Bug Hotel and we are delighted to report she must have been run off her feet as there are sightings of all kinds of insects appearing at the Buglington! It’s a wonderful structure for these little creatures to find safety and hopefully some will begin to pollenate some of our flowers and trees in time.
After the trail, the children returned to our visitor centre for a well earned drink and snack before making their very own fairy wands at our workshop.
A big thanks to the Irish Fairy Door Company for making this day special for our loyal season ticket holders. To be part of these exclusive events become a season ticket holder today. For more information visit our website or contact a member of the team.
We hope to see you soon!
