Over 2000 people including fairies, elves, princesses and superheroes made their way to the National Stud & Gardens in Kildare on Saturday September 5th for the Sensational Kids Charity Fairy & Elf Festival. With sunshine, characters in costume, fairy door trail, treasure hunts and fire engine rides in the beautiful surrounds of the Irish National Stud & Gardens, it was a magical day out for families. Most importantly, the charity achieved its goal to fundraise €20,000 for its occupational and speech and language services to children with additional needs. It was personally experiencing the barriers to care and support children with special needs and their families face, that inspired local woman Karen Leigh to establish Sensational Kids in 2007.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Irish National Stud and Gardens and the hard work of over 50 volunteers, we have raised much needed funds for our services and hosted an amazing day full of fun and wonder for families”, said Karen Leigh, CEO and Founder of Sensational Kids.
