Elegant Pose made a lasting impression when dominating the fillies’ maiden over a mile at the Curragh on just her first visit to the racecourse. The 3yo daughter of Elusive Pimpernel bred and owned by the same connections as her sire is a half-sister to her talented stablemate Brendan Bracken.
Under the watchful eye of Ger Lyons the filly looked well drilled as she broke well and travelled smoothly during the race. Despite being short of room on a number of occasions the filly showed great mentality to switch outside and when the gaps appeared quickened up smartly in the hands of Colin Keane. Shooting well clear of the field alongside a well fancied Godolphin filly from Jim Bolger’s yard Elegant Pose stayed on strongly on the run in to hold off her challenger with what looked a good deal left in the tank.
After such an impressive victory on debut for this filly, black type affairs will be most certainly be next on the agenda. Either way Elegant Pose is an extremely exciting animal for Elusive Pimpernel and standing at only a €1,000 she is yet another high class performer in waiting for him…
