Dragon Pulse Analysis
10th Dec 2014
First Foals, top prices of €95,000 (family of Tiggy Wiggy) , 50,000 Gns, €50,000, €46,000
Dragon Pulse was an extremely gifted 7f two-year-old, claiming the scalp of subsequent Dewhurst Stakes winner Parish Hall in the Futurity Stakes before running a narrow second to Power in the National Stakes. Yet he was also effective over 6f, as his authoritative maiden win at Leopardstown illustrates, and later successfully stretched out to a mile to defeat Dabirsim in the Prix de Fontainebleau at Longchamp. A striking individual who realised €120,000 as a yearling, Dragon Pulse is a member of the Pivotal sire line that is responsible for Siyouni, a leading light among this year’s first-crop sires. His family is also one which is noted for producing talented two-year-olds; his dam, Poetical, was only half a length off Alexander Goldrun in a Listed event at two, and is closely related to Middle Park Stakes hero Hayil, as well as this year’s Listed-winning juvenile Mind Of Madness. Further back, it is the family of Wild Rush, a Grade 1-producing sire in America and Japan.
Dragon Pulse was well received by breeders during his first season, covering 109 mares. Consequently, he has a group of well-connected foals to represent him, including the half-siblings to high-class runners such as Yellow Rosebud, Justice Day and Masta Plasta.
”The best looking bunch of foals I’ve seen in quite some time”. Bill Dwan, Castlebridge Consignment
