A Win for the INS Breeding & Racing Club

A Win for the INS Breeding & Racing Club

28th Jun 2018

We knew this year would be exciting but I don’t think we knew just how much!

The Irish National Stud’s Breeding and Racing Club has had a lot to look forward to in 2018. A small group of enthusiasts from around the world, have banded together to enjoy the pleasures of owning and breeding racehorses based here at the stud and with Irish trainers.  And this year so far has been very exciting!

Veronica Falls and her filly foal

We have welcomed two  healthy and athletic looking foals. The first a Dragon Pulse filly out of Weekend Getaway. And the other a filly foal by No Nay Never out of Veronica Falls. Both of these foals will hopefully head to the sales at Goffs, much to the excitement of the members.

The club has also been lucky to visit a number of top studs and training yards and this week the club will be visiting Godolphins Kildangan Farm. We are all looking forward to seeing one of the top breeding operations in the world and meeting some of their magnificent stallions.

We have two fillies in training this year and they have so far given us some very exciting days out. The first is Divine Approach, a three year old half-sister to Red Cadeaux. We introduced you all to her last year and she has really come into herself.

Divine Approach has enjoyed her work immensely and started her three year old campaign in Gowran Racecourse, County Kilkenny earlier in the year. She has done well in her races and according to her trainer Michael O’Callaghan will improve with age. Michael is also a graduate of the Irish national Stud Breeding Course.

There will be a lot more to come from Divine Approach as she grows into a fine strong filly.

The Club with Lethal promise on her win at Naas Racecourse

Our second filly is Lethal Promise, a stunning two year old by Invincible Spirit out of Lethal Quality trained by Willie McCreery, also a graduate of the course. This homebred filly is well related and has given us a lot of excitement. Lethal Promise has had three starts both at the Curragh and Naas in very good company. She has placed twice and finally gave us a winning day out at Naas Racecourse! What a day!

Next up for Lethal Promise is the Gr.3 Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh Derby Weekend. Fingers Crossed!

Racehorses can make dreams come true and a runner in the Oaks is in our minds. And this special filly could make our dreams come true!

It has been a wonderful time for the club which has included many days racing, exclusive visits to stud farms and training yards – we really try to paint the full picture of the bloodstock industry, from the breeding shed to the racecourse, the INS Breeding & Racing Club offers you the chance to experience all the thrills and spills of breeding and racing thoroughbreds.
