It was a beautiful Spring day to remember last Sunday as over 100 season ticket holders and their families gathered together to welcome back our fairy residents.
Fairy Louis and Fairy Hayley led the way around our new trail which has re-located to the enchanted St Fiachra’s Garden where over 20 fairies now reside. Along the journey our guests were treated to some special stories about each resident and learned the chores they do and – more importantly – what makes them happy!
Gardening was a passion for St Fiachra and he would be delighted to know that many of these fairies play a part in maintaining the beauty of this spiritual place. Fairy Francis is responsible for the Bug Hotel and we are delighted to report he must have been run off his feet as there are sightings of all kinds of insects appearing at the Buglington! It’s a wonderful structure for these little creatures to find safety and by the looks of things, they are helping pollinate the flowers and helping them come into full bloom.
After the trail, the children returned to our visitor centre for a well earned drink and snack before making their very own fairy wands at our workshop, hearing tales of fairy antics, getting their faces painted and finally meeting our animal friends at the ‘Farmyard in your Schoolyard’ petting zoo. There were all types of farmyard animals including Custard the sheep, Bobby the rabbit, multiple ducks and even three baby chicks.
A big thanks to the Irish Fairy Door Company, Colour Splash and Farmyard in your Schoolyard for making this day special for our loyal season ticket holders. There are a host of events planned for our season ticket holders this year. To be part of these exclusive events become a season ticket holder today. A family season ticket is only €110 and covers two adults and up to 4 children!!
