Stakes Double for Invincible Spirit

Stakes Double for Invincible Spirit

13th Jul 2021

On the 11th of July Invincible Spirit enjoyed a stakes double when Pearls Galore dominated the field in the Group 3 Brownstown Stud Stakes at Fairyhouse and Loch Lein blitzed her opponents in the Listed Prix Amandine at Deauville.

Trainer Paddy Twomey knew that his filly Pearls Galore had the ability to be a Group winner and his long-term plan paid dividends when the daughter of Invincible Spirit, ridden by Billy Lee, enjoyed a two length victory over Jessica Harrington’s Valeria Messalina. Bred and raced by Scea Haras De Saint Pair this daughter of Invincible Spirit out of a Pivotal mare will now be targeted towards the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown in September.

Loch Lein, a homebred for Denis and Joan Brosnan of Croom House Stud, notched her first success at Listed level when defeating a field of international runners from England, Ireland and France. Trained by Jessica Harrington and ridden by Stephane Pasquier she chased the leaders until she was asked to change gears 2 furlongs out. She quickened well and enjoyed a 1 length victory over the Edouard Monfort trained Pamouschana.

Congratulations to the connections of these two promising fillies by Invincible Spirit!
