Ever wondered what it would be like to breed and sell a thoroughbred foal? Always thought it was something you could not afford? Well, think again. The Irish National Stud has provided an opportunity to purchase shares in a thoroughbred foal by Irish 2,000 Guineas Winner, Phoenix of Spain.
INS Racing alongside Mare Syndicates were developed by the Irish National Stud with the intention of growing the sport & promoting breeding in Ireland. They are delighted to announce the launch of this new opportunity to breed, own and sell a quality foal produced at a world-renowned nursery.
The foal in question is by classic winner Phoenix of Spain, who welcomes his first foals this year. Already impressing breeders across Europe, Phoenix of Spain is the highest rated son at stud by super sire Lope De Vega & looks a force to be reckoned in the stallion ranks. The foal is a filly and was born on April 1st.
The filly foal is out of INS broodmare and Black Type producer Dreamaway. She is the dam of three 2-year-old winners including Bing Bang Bong, who placed in the Gr.3 Acomb Stakes the same race Phoenix Of Spain won a few years later. Bing Bang Bong now has 5 wins to his name & continues to race in Hong Kong having reached an Official Rating of 106 during his career. Another of her sons Han Solo Berger a 7-time winner reached a career high rating of 91 recently and looks to have exciting targets ahead of him in 2021.
A sister to Gr.3 Solario Stakes winning 2yo Foss Way, multiple Stakes winner Chevron & a sister to the dam of Stakes winner Barrington Court, Dreamaway is from the family of Champions Gold Away, Silent Name, as well as successful sire Galiway & leading 2yo filly of 2020 Aloha Star. Dreamaway is by leading broodmare sire Oasis Dream whose daughters include recent top-class animals including the likes of Sir Dragonet, Siskin, Tawkeel, Sioux Nation, Equilateral & Miss Amulet.
Patrick Diamond, Bloodstock and Nominations, Irish National Stud commented:
‘’This filly is yet another impressive Phoenix of Spain foal. She has the size, strength & quality that we are seeing in his first foals. Dreamaway, the dam, is a black type producing Oasis Dream mare whose foals always have great substance, the mating with Phoenix has really worked.’’
The initiative will give ‘owners’ the opportunity to follow their foals’ story, watch as they grow and become immersed in the bloodstock world by following them to the sales at one of Ireland’s major auction houses. ‘Owners’ will be experiencing first-hand the ins and outs of quality bloodstock ownership from the foals first steps, it’s early development, it’s summer grazing through to sales preparation ahead of the big day at the sales in November.
There are 200 shares available to purchase for a once off payment of €125 per share (excluding taxes and charges). To be in with a chance of following their story purchase your shares by following the link below:
Speaking about the initiative, Cathal Beale, CEO, Irish National Stud, said:
‘’After the great successes we have had with our Mare Syndicates model we are delighted to create another unique opportunity for people to get involved in the breeding industry, for a modest fee and follow the life of a foal from birth through to selling in November. The aim will be to sell for a profit on the investment but the guarantee will be a shared ownership experience like no other.”
