‘The first 6f event of the season for two-year-olds produced the most impressive display of the campaign so far. After hitting the front over 2f out, he quickly put his rivals in their place and ran on strongly to the line.’ Racing Post, 12.05.96

Each year Verglas has proved popular with breeders and agents who have been rewarded for solid stock with great racing attitudes. Trainers love them. We wish them well with his remaining offspring and trust that a legacy will be left in his name.

The Verglas story may not rival Seabiscuit in the annals of Hollywood, but his life was one which brought great reward. He was bred by the short-lived Godolphin Stud which produced the stallions Shaamit, Trans Island, Martino Alonso and Robertico as well as the precocious grey colt we came to know as Verglas.
