  • Osblog 13 - Yellow15/05/2012Happily we have our “Barzalona” moments too, and while a Group 3 at Leopardstown may be humble to some, it was fantastic to watch Yellow Rosebud make her 3yo debut a winning one. In so doing, she is a legitimate contender for the Irish 1000 Guineas, and we will have an exciting two weeks.

  • The Creative Cottage at the Irish National Stud14/05/2012The Irish National Stud in conjunction with Reddoor34 will open the newly renovated thatch cottage to the public on Wednesday 23rd May at 7.30pm for a week of contemporary local craft and creative workshops.

Attractions
Japanese Gardens - bridges, streams, tunnels (nb this area is not suitable for the disabled).
St. Fiachra's Garden - follow a nature trail around this natural garden which includes caves and open pond areas.
Stud Farm - stallions, foals and mares can be viewed in their paddocks and stables at varying times of the year.  Miniature falabella horses are always in their fields.
Horse Museum - Arkle's skeleton, jockeys solks and other horseracing memorabilia come to life.

Food
Picnic tables are located in the Children’s Playground area or tree covered car and coach parks.  The on site Japanese Gardens Restaurant is located in the Visitor Centre and arrangements for lunch packs may be made separately with them by telephoning +353 (0)45 531 660.
Free tea and coffee for teachers and helpers.  Free lunch for coach driver.

Downloads
Our leaflets and teachers notes are available to download and include exercises and games for children to complete both during and after the visit. 

Website
A special area of our website called Youngstock is dedicated to our young guest.  Updated regularly, it contains a gallery of foal pictures and help with homework relating to the visit.

Photo Competition
An annual kids photography competition encourages children to e-mail us their best tour pictures and win a free INS hoodie and annual family pass.
