Chief Executive   

The Irish National Stud Company Limited is a commercial state-owned company and is recognised in the bloodstock industry as one of the leading international stallion farms.  Located in County Kildare, the Irish National Stud also encompasses the renowned Japanese Gardens – an important tourism attraction in Ireland.  The Irish bloodstock breeding and racing industry is of major national importance in terms of employment and is the fourth largest producer of thoroughbreds in the world.  Annual yearling sales are well in excess of €200 million.  Yeaton & Associates have been retained to assist the Board in making this important appointment.
The role

  • Reporting to the Board, market, promote and manage operations and direct the thoroughbred investment programme
  • Ensure the implementation of strategic business plans, further developing the four primary revenue streams – stallion income, bloodstock sales, boarding and yearling preparation, and tourism – retaining and attracting clients and visitors
  • Lead a highly dedicated, professional team overseeing functional activities – breeding and research, finance and administration, marketing and sales, communications, training and education, as well as the tourism offering

The person

  • A relevant third level qualification
  • An impressive record in management, with commercial exposure to delivering services allied to the bloodstock industry
  • Skilled at building and nurturing close business and personal relationships
  • An able communicator, capable of serving as an influential advocate for and respected representative of both the Irish National Stud and the industry
  • A strategic thinker with vision who can maintain a pragmatic perspective
  • Demonstrated leadership talent and strongly people orientated
